In the 2025 season, an expanded "Fossillienwelt" with a new look invites visitors to explore, marvel and enjoy. Playful knowledge transfer, the use of modern media and a completely redesigned and expanded play area are at the centre of the new offer, which is being planned and implemented by pronatour. The uniqueness of the site - 15,000 uncovered giant fossil oysters, the discovery of the world's largest fossil pearl and fossilised remains of 650 animal and plant species - will be presented in an even more exciting way for children, young people and adults.
The state of Lower Austria, ECOPLUS, INTERREG (EU) and the regional development association "10 vor Wien - Donau Raum Weinviertel" are investing over 2 million euros in the relaunch in order to preserve this unique natural jewel and further develop its experience character. In future, a day in the Fossil World will be a holiday in prehistoric times.
