Dachstein Giant Ice Cave
Dachstein-Krippenstein, Obertraun, Upper Austria (AT)
New staging of the ice cave of the Dachstein
The giant ice cave on the northern slope of the Dachstein massif has been struggling with declining visitor numbers for years. That's why, as part of a new presentation, everything was redesigned from scratch: The completely new lighting, including electrical installation, now allows impressive light and sound shows to be staged and has reduced the energy requirement to a tenth through the use of modern programmable LED technology. In addition, extra highlights were created: Two moving cave bears are witnesses to the cave's exciting history and a suspension bridge offers an unprecedented and spectacular view downwards to the famous ice formations. pronatour also developed the screenplay for the cave tours and was responsible for lighting and sound design as well as for the coordination of the various trades involved.
