Experiences for the green(er) winter

The 33rd TFA was looking for "Strategies for the green winter", pronatour CEOs Christian Lang and Werner Stark argued in favour of a diversification of the offer on this literally hot topic - and in favour of seeing the greener winter as an opportunity. "Winter tourism in the Alps will also have to become attractive for non-skiers," Christian Lang and Werner Stark are convinced. In their TFA presentation "Inspirations for an eventful green(er) winter", the two creative entrepreneurs outline a possible, successful path through a future with less snow. "Skiing will continue to be the driving force, but alternative offers must be developed in parallel: Hybrid offers that also work when there is little or no snow. Year-round offers that I can also use in other seasons."

The key to this is being flexible and emphasising your own strengths. "If you have prepared alternatives, you can ramp them up if necessary and offer them as a supplement. And attractions that utilise existing resources and are tailored to the respective region always work best." The development from a pure ski holiday to a comprehensive winter holiday therefore requires individual concepts, networking of tourism partners and an authentic theme.
